Aaron is officially gone now. So the countdown begins. It was extremely sad and hard to say goodbye. But it's the Navy, so we have to do what we have to. Jacob and I are doing good so far without our daddy.
I'm already trying to think of little projects that I can do myself before Aaron comes back. I might tackle the bathroom first. Start small first. But I do want to have our bedroom finished before he leaves. We have just a regular plain bedroom now, and I want to make it more relaxing and spa like. I have a few months to decide what I want to do with it.
Last night I tackled my first little project by putting up some privacy film on the front door windows. We have two sidelight windows next to our front door. I had bought some sheer (only curtains I could find) panels for them and they semi-worked. You couldn't really see in unless you were trying to look through the windows. I had to put them up b/c we had some really strange guy approach our door one day while Aaron was gone. We didn't have a house phone yet and Aaron had our cell phone. I wasn't going to answer the door but the guy could see me in the living room so he wasn't leaving. I tried asking him what he wanted through the window, but couldn't really hear him. So I opened the door - yes I now realize that I should have NEVER done that! especially since this guy looked pretty rough. He said he had run out of gas and needed help. I was really scared so said really quickly that I was sorry and couldn't help him and closed the door really quick. Aaron came home shortly after this and ended up helping the guy...even after the guy told Aaron "That lady in there is a b*tch! She slammed the door on me!". Needless to say, I won't be helping anyone else that comes to my door. We tried to do the good thing. THEN I had yet another strange man come to my door yesterday morning. This is after I have the sheer panels up. I guess he could see my shaddow through them and wouldn't leave my door either. I wasn't going to answer the door b/c I was in the middle of feeding Jacob. It ended up being one of the construction guys from next door who wanted to use our electricity...um no!! The bill is already too high!
So after all this and knowing that at night you could see straight into the house, I decided we were going to either frost the windows or see if Lowes had some film. Thankfully Lowes did have some nice decorative film that worked the charm. Aaron even put in a peep hole in the door! I am really happy the way everything turned out. I also made a little sign for the next visitor. I don't want anymore weird annoying people at my door. It might look a little tacky, but I really don't care at the momment. This will work until I can find another one.
New pics of Jacob from this week -
All smiles...like always
Little snaggle tooth is now chewing on everything! Even his paci has teeth marks!
Chillin on the boppy pillow. Life is good.
The fence is finished! For the most part..Aaron still wants to cut the tops of the posts and trim some of the metal fence down in some areas. Here is what it looks like.
Take care!
