Like father, like son

As we are going through everything to get ready to move, we found Aaron's baby photo album. Just wanted to show everyone how much they look alike.

For all the Ohio State fans... here is what you have been asking for! Sorry for the delay, but he is still a little bit too small for his OSU outfits. But we put one on so we could take some pics for you. He wasn't too happy to have more pics taken of him again. But we will try again another day.

And we couldn't forget about mommy's favorite team!
Jacob was done with this mini photo shoot! No more pictures mommy!!

2 months

Today our little man is two months old! We had his doc apt today and everything went pretty great. He is now 10.11oz! What a fatty! He also had to get his 2 month shots today. It was kind of funny because as we were waiting to be seen by the doctor first, the immunizations doctor asked if I was waiting for any shots. I told him I had to be seen by his doc first and we were going to get his shots later. As he started to look at Jacob, Jacob busted out with his bubba lip and started to cry. It's as if Jacob knew this was the guy who was about to poke him with needles.

The doctor said Jacob is doing great. He is now in the 50% with his weight. Finally! She did notice that it sounded like he still has a small heart murmur. So we are going to have to schedule to have an echo scan done at the Italian hospital since our hospital doesn't have the equipment for that. His shots went pretty good. He did let out two loud screams as the shots went in, but as soon as I held him he stopped. And soon after that he was passed out asleep.

Since no one has seen Jacob yet personally, let me just confirm once again that he is a spitting image of his father. I saw some friends at the hospital and I got the comment that everyone says..."Jacob looks exactly like his father!".

Jacob is becoming more and more like a little man. The last few weeks were hard because he was fussy all the time. But in the last couple of days, and the help of new formula, he is becoming more and more happy. He is smiling all the time. It's so cute to wake up and have him smile at us. He is starting to "talk" to us. I will post some new videos on YouTube that I took of him. He is so talkative and then when I pull the camera out he gets pretty shy and just stares at the camera. The other nite at bath time, for the first time he didn't cry! It was amazing! He usually always screams during his bath. Maybe he is finally getting used to it and starting to enjoy it.

Here are some pics from today...

Here are his little battle marks from the shots today

Just a little update on moving... Jacob and I finally got our tickets to fly back home on May 15th. Aaron is flying back on the 21st and is heading to Ohio to pick up his truck. He will drive down to Atlanta and then we will all go to Gulfport to do our house hunting leave. Soon enough we will be home!

Little man is just like his father!

It's 7am and Jacob is still sleeping! He has been sleeping since his 3:30am feeding. And before that he slept for 6 hours! Hopefully this is the start of his "sleeping through the night". I'm just amazed that he just slept through Aaron's many wake up alarms and his extremely loud alarm. It takes Aaron about 10 snoozes on his regular alarm clock and then his final wake up call with this alarm that sounds like a fire alarm. Even Aaron was amazed and asked me to check to make sure he was alive! haha (I did, and he was still breathing!)

I feel a little lost with so much sleep! Maybe I'll get some more stuff done today with packing our stuff. Yippy!

Almost a 10 pounder!

We had another weight check today for Jacob. One of the few things good about living in Sicily is that we have a visiting nurse for our community. So instead of us having to go to the doctors every week to get Jacob's weight, the visiting nurse can come to our house and do everything. It is great! And it helps that the nurse is a really nice lady and her husband is in Aaron's command.

Aaron and I had a little bet this morning about Jacob's weight. I said it was going to be 9.10oz and he said 10lbs. I won! He is 9.13oz this week! What a fatty! j/k! He's gained a pound in about a week and half. We are really happy that he is continuing to gain weight.

This weekend went by pretty quickly. Aaron had duty on Saturday, but he thankfully had today off. Yesterday we started taking things off the walls and cleaning out closets. Our house is a wreck, but somewhat an organized wreck.

Here is a pic of Jacob today at 7 weeks.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone! I knew Easter was coming up, but it pretty much slipped my mind. It's one of my favorite holidays. I love coloring eggs, and have done so every year...except this year. I completely forgot all about it until today. I guess I still have the baby brain going on.

Here are some pics that were taken at Jacob's "semi-professional photo shoot".

Getting close to moving soon!

We finally got Jacob's passport yesterday, which means we can now book our ticket with the military to get out of here! Yay! Our flight depends on when there is pet space available since I will have to take the dogs back with me. As of right now it looks like I'll be coming back May 29. But there is a possibility of May 15 if someone cancels. Aaron will be flying home a few days earlier to get his truck in Ohio and then meet me in Atlanta. After that we will head down to Mississippi to purchase a house. Aaron will have to head back to Sicily to get everything wrapped up here and then he will be back in July. I'm a little nervous about flying by myself with two dogs and a baby. Kind of nerve racking. Plus Aaron will already be gone when I have to go to leave, which means I'll have somehow get the baby and two dogs to the airport and do all that by myself. I'm not looking forward to this at all. Especially not flying with Jacob. Hopefully he won't be that one baby on the flight screaming the whole time. I think I'll have a panic attack if he does! Thankfully the flight won't be too long.

I had my 6 week post partum check up today. Everything went okay.. Not to go into any details but I still have some healing to do. Hopefully only a few more weeks and I will be completely healed. The aftermath of the pregnancy has been hell compared to being pregnant. There is a lot of things people don't tell you about after you have your child. But it's all worth it since we have such a cutie pie!

Jacob is doing great. Still fussy every now and then due to his gas issue. We finally got some gas medicine and started that yesterday. So hopefully that will help him out. His neck is getting really strong and can hold his head up a little when placed on his tummy. He is getting longer than I thought he would! No more 0-3 months clothes for him. He is already in 3 months. There was so many outfits that he never got to wear. He is starting to get on a better schedule. Hince the fact I'm on here right now. He is napping good today! The other night he actually slept 6 full hours! I was shocked and had a hard time sleeping thinking something was wrong. Most nights he will sleep for 4 hours and then he's up for a feeding.

Other than that, everything is going great with us. We have to start getting everything ready to get packed up. I think we will probably pack out in the next week or so. I need to take pictures of everything and start an inventory list. I personally don't trust the Italian moving companies. I have had many friends lose a lot of items b/c they were stollen.

What a cutie pie!

Update on little man

Sorry it has taken us a while to update. It's harder to get on here than I thought.

It's hard to believe that our little guy is already a month and a half old! Jacob is doing great. We had two doctor visits last week to check on his weight again. He is now up to 8.13! He is finally getting fat! Jacob is eating more than I can supply him with. I'm on reglan which is helping with my supply, but I found some news on the internet today that the drug has been recalled because it can cause tardive dyskinesia, which causes involuntary repetitive momements (twitches). Another side affect is makes it hard for you to find your words when speaking. I've already noticed that I'm having a little problem with that. I know what I want to say, but sometimes it doesn't come out right when I'm talking. I would hate for this to have a permant effect on me. We have been supplementing with formula, and Jacob has taken well with that. We would just like to keep him on breastmilk as long as possible. So hopefully I can get off the medicine and still be able to nurse Jacob.

Jacob is such a cutie pie! It is amazing to see him smile at us. Every time we make a big smiley face he will copy us and give us one back. It's so cute. He is getting pretty big. He can no longer fit into newborn clothes since he is getting so long.

We had our first official baby photo shot last weekend. The pictures were done by a photographer that lives here. He does it only for fun and donations, so thankfully they didn't cost us much. But the pictures turned out pretty good. You can check them out on our flickr site.

Moving update...as you all know we are heading to Gulfport, MS. Jacob, the dogs, and myself can leave as soon as we get Jacob's passport. We have been waiting 4 weeks for it so far. Aaron checked last week to see if there is any pet space available on any of the flights leaving in May..and guess what? Nope! There might be a cancelation on one of the flights leaving open 2 available spots for our dogs, but that's just a slight chance. So it looks like we won't be home till June, if we are lucky. Or July for sure.

Here are a few new pics..

Yes we did put socks on him after this pic :)
Got your tickets?? For the gun show!
Stretching out

Smiles for mommy :)
