37 week apt.

Today was the 37 week apt. Everything is going great, as usual. I actually dropped a pound :) Yay! I'm tired of seeing the scale keep going up. The baby is continuing to measure right on track. He is still in the correct position for birth. There was no concern for doing an internal check, so we skipped that. The doctor will start doing that next week. If for some reason the baby decides he doesn't want to come out on his own, I will be induced at 41 weeks 1 day, which is Monday Feb. 23. I wish they could induce me sooner. He feels so big inside of me and he doesn't have much room left. I've been getting more and more of the Braxton Hicks contractions. But still nothing painful. They are more uncomfortable than anything.

So now we must wait... Please come out baby!!!

Ready for the Baby!!

We had our doc apt last Thursday. Everything went great. The doc said my weight is on track, which is great! I've gained 29 pounds so far, which is a lot to me. But my doc said that was an ideal weight gain. I've got 3 more weeks, so hopefully I don't blow up like a blowfish in the next few weeks! The baby measured right where he should be and is in the correct placement for labor. The doctor guessed that he will be around 7 pounds when he decides to come out.

We didn't have to end up staying at the hospital that night after all. The weather wasn't that bad like they had expected. Our doctor lives in the same housing area as us. He said if for some reason I did start to go into labor or have any problems he would just swim to our place if the area did end up flooding :)

So we only have 3 more weeks left. I'm hoping and praying he comes sooner. I've actually made a bet with one of our friends that the Baby is coming before the end of this month. I'm thinking the 28th or 29th is a good day:) Let's hope the baby agrees! It's not that I don't enjoy being pregnant. Sure I don't mind my body being taken over.....having an over sized gut in the way, not being able to eat and drink certain foods, having these lovely little cramps during the day, getting kicked at various times, especially when I'm playing Guitar Hero and I'm trying to win!Oh yeah, let me not forget the almost hourly nightly trips to the bathroom. But other than that, it has been great. I think my body looks pretty good for being almost 9 months pregnant. My weight gain has all gone to my belly. My face hasn't blown up and I don't look like a fat cow like I thought I would. I didn't have to wear much maternity clothes, except pants. Honestly, I can't complain about being pregnant. I am growing a little human being that belongs to Aaron and I. This is our little guy that we created.

Hopefully we will be able to meet him soon!

3.5 weeks left!

So we only have 3.5 weeks left until Baby Hanlon comes out!!

It has been raining off and on for the past week or so. Which is pretty common here during the winter. But the water isn't going anywhere and the river is starting to fill up. When it rains hard here, the streets are usually the first to flood. Last week they had to close the bases early one day so people could drive home safely because of all the flooding. Tonight we got a phone call from the hospital stating that all full term mothers-to-be are being told to stay over night in the hospital incase anything were to happen. If it floods again they won't be able to send out any emergency vechiles, and most likely our car would not be able to get us there anways. And there is also a chance that they will have to release the levies and dam, which could cause flooding to the housing area like it did back in 2005. All the houses were flooded downstairs and everything was ruined. We have great insurance, so I'm not too worried about that. Everything can be replaced. But I'm worried about Georgia & Smokey. I'm sure everything will be ok.

We thankfully have a doctor's appointment already set up for tomorrow and he hopefully will be able to tell us to stay or not. I really don't want to stay over night in the hospital unless it is truely nessecary. It's not like a nice hotel stay. It's more of a boring night with no take out.

Aaron finally put the carseat in the car tonight, just incase Baby Hanlon decides to come tomorrow or the next day. And I finally packed the hospital bags. It's like a prerun before we actually really have the baby. But who knows, maybe we will go to the doc apt tomorrow and he will tell us that the baby is coming soon! I keep saying that the baby will be here before the 31st.

We will keep everyone updated on what happens in the next few days.

35 weeks...Only 5 more to go?

I'm finally 35 weeks! Only 5 more to go! Or maybe sooner...who knows! According to my mom, I was 4 weeks early. So it is very possible that Baby Hanlon could be coming home anytime in the next few weeks. It's hard to imagine us bringing him home in the next month. Time has flown by!

Today Aaron & I went to a breastfeeding class. Thankfully he wasn't the only father there. It was somewhat informative...but not really. I've already done my researching and know what to do and all the in's and out's. Thanks to my great friend Katrina, who bought me a really great book! After the class we got a chance to tour the labor and delivery ward. We got to see the rooms where we would be delivering. It was your basic hospital room, nothing too glamorous. They have your basic tv, dvd, phone, a chair that turns into a bed for Aaron and a bathroom. It won't be bad for a day or two. The staff seemed very nice, which is important.

Everything is going good with the pregnancy. I'm still hitting the gym during the week and still walking the dogs the other days when the weather is permitting. I feel pretty good. I'm starting to have the Braxton Hicks contractions. Not too bad though. My only complaint is that I can't sleep much at night and from time to time I feel a little sick.

Here are pics of my 35 week belly. Getting big! Or at least to me! I had some people say today that I'm still pretty small for having only 5 weeks left.
