More pictures to come..

Sorry we haven't uploaded more pictures. We had to be readmitted into the hospital yesterday because Jacob’s blood results showed that he had a somewhat high level of jaundice. They tested him twice, one was high and the other was average. So to be on the safe side they wanted to hook him up to the billi lights for a day. It was pretty sad seeing him hooked up like that and having to stay on this table under the lights all day. It was extremely hard for Aaron and I because we had to monitor him 24/7 b/c of his light goggles he had to wear. Jacob continued to tear them off. So after 4 very long days at the hospital, we are finally home today. Hopefully for good!!

Everything is going great. Jacob is feeding like a champ and is a great sleeper. Hmm.. I wonder why? That seems to be his father’s favorite hobby. Every keeps saying how much he looks like Aaron. He is a little mini me of Aaron, looks and all. I know I’m his mom, but Jacob is so adorable. Aaron and I sure did a good job at making an extremely good looking little boy :-) So far he has been an amazing little guy. He only cries when he needs something or because he has been having some bad gas. Yet another thing he gets from his father! Ha ha just kidding!

Our dogs have taken to him pretty well. They are very curious about him. Georgia follows him every where and is always checking on him. The first and only night we were home so far, both dogs spent the entire night waking up and checking on every movement and sound Jacob made. Smokey is a little more shy around the baby, while Georgia would love to be all in his face.

We will have more pictures uploaded this weekend. I would upload them now, but it’s hard to stay away from Jacob too long… he’s too damn cute!!

Jacob Lee is here!

After 41 weeks, I had to be induced. He was too content inside of my tummy to come out. Long story short, I was induced about 5:30am Monday. I started pushing around 1pm and he finally came out at 3:23 pm. It wasn't that bad of a delivery. Honestly it did hurt like hell! His head was freaking huge!!! By the next day I was moving around and didn't hurt much at all. I did get two tears and had to get stitches. But other than that, I feel pretty good today.

So here is what everyone has been waiting for....pictures!!

Jacob Lee - born Monday Feb. 23, 2009 at 3:23pm. 8lbs 7oz & 21 inches

Who would have thought?

I made it to 41 weeks pregnant! I never thought this would happen. But clearly the baby is already taking after his daddy and has decided to come late. And now the little guy will share the same day of the month birthday as his dad. Makes it a little easier for us to remember in the long run.

I am being induced tomorrow at 5am! I'm dreading getting up that early. It's still hard to grasp that we are going to be parents tomorrow. No more waiting and guessing. It's happening tomorrow no matter what. This time tomorrow we will be parents. For some reason it still freaks me out a little. We have been waiting for this for over 9 months. It started to seem like this day was never coming.

So tomorrow we will welcome the newest member of our family... :-)

40 weeks and 4 days pregnant!

Still no baby! We had an apt yesterday with a non stress test and an ultrasound. Everything looked pretty good. I'm 75% effaced and 2-3 cm dilated....BUT still no baby! I've had some contractions, but still nothing on a regular time table. It's getting a little frustrating not knowing when he is going to come out! We do know that if things don't progress on their own, I will be induced on Monday morning. So he will be here sometime before Monday night whether he wants to come out or not! I really really do not want to get induced. I keep hearing some awful stories about women being induced. A lot of c-sections and a lot of pain...not really what I want.

We went bowling last night thinking just maybe that might help him drop lower and get things rolling. Nope! Didn't work! It did bring on a little contractions, but they soon died down.

Everyone please keep your fingers crossed that the baby will come out in the next few days!

Baby's due date

Today was the baby’s due date, but he has decided today was not a good day to come out yet. Life must be pretty good inside my tummy. I’m starting to think Aaron has jinxed us with him wanting the baby out on Tuesday. Hopefully he will decide to come out sometime this week before I have to get induced on the 23rd.

I’m still feeling pretty good. I get a little sore from time to time. But I’m still doing pretty much everything that I would normally do before being pregnant. It’s hard to believe that I’m 9 months pregnant. I don’t really feel too different… I just have a huge “beer gut”. It does make getting out of bed a little more difficult. I'm still having contractions, but still nothing that we can time. I had a lot of contractions last night and was extremely sore in any position that I tried sleeping in. Hopefully whenever I do begin to go into labor I will be able to recognize it.

Keep your fingers crossed and maybe we will get lucky and have a baby in the next few days!

Still pregnant!

The baby has decided he doesn't want to come out yet. I haven't had any signs today that labor is going to start. I've had some contractions, but they are very random. He needs to come out now! Tomorrow is Friday the 13th and we really do not want him to come on that day and our doc will be somewhat busy and may not be able to get to the hospital in time. And I refuse to have a Valentine's baby. Valentine's Day is a great holiday, but not for a boy's birthday. So if he doesn't come tonight, he better stay in there until Sunday. Aaron is hoping on Tuesday since Monday is a holiday and he will already have a 3 day weekend. If the baby comes before then, the holiday will count as one of his days off and he will lose a free day off. (The military is weird how they do their days off.) Knowing our luck, he will come on Saturday just because I have always said I don't want a Valentine's baby.

Any bets on how big he will be??

39 week apt

We had our 39 week apt this morning. Everything went great like always. I had another internal check, which ended up with the doc stripping my mucus plug. And boy did it hurt like hell! The doc was hoping that it would break my water, but no suck luck as of right now. He did push on the baby's head and the baby fell back down like he is supposed to. So as of right now, I am 3cm dilated. I am having contractions, but not anything I can start timing yet. They have started to get a little stronger in the last hour or so, but they are still not close enough or regularly. The doc said that he might see us back in the hospital tonight or tomorrow if everything goes good. We are keeping our fingers crossed, and hoping this little guy decides to come out soon.

I’m not sure if it is a sign or not, but I did come home after the doc apt and start cleaning the house. I’m not sure if you could call it “nesting”. I’m a clean freak, you can ask Aaron. He thinks I’m too overly clean, but that can never be possible. I really want the house to be clean so when we come home with the baby, that’s less work I will have to do. I even baked cookies today and made one pre-made meal for after the baby comes.

So as of tonight, we are just waiting.

Here are my pics for 39 weeks.. not much has changed to me.

Heart was good today

We went back to the doctors today to get the baby's heart monitored again to make sure everything was okay. After about 20 minutes, everything checked out okay. The baby again tried to kick and move around with the monitor on him. I am not sure if he likes it or not. But this time he succeeded in moving it enough that the nurse had to come in and move it around to find his heartbeat again. It’s pretty cool to watch him move.

We have our next doctor apt on Wednesday. Hopefully I’ll be somewhat closer to delivery considering our due date is next Sunday. Yes, that’s next weekend! Only a few days away!!!!!! Exciting and a little scary at the same time!

38 weeks dr apt

We had our 38 week doctor apt today. As the doc was listening to the heart beat, it had skipped a beat every minute or so. He wasn't sure if it was his machine or not, but he sent us up to the labor ward to have me and the baby monitored. We were hooked up to the monitoring machine for about 20 mins. I’m not sure if the baby enjoyed this or not. He kept moving his little butt around like crazy. The doctor noticed that he was still having some missed beats. It could be caused from hiccups or it could indicate something else. They are unsure at the moment. So we are going back on Friday and will be monitored again. If it persists, then we may have to get another ultrasound to check his heart out.

The doctor did the first internal check. I’m a little disappointed that I am not dilated yet, and my cervix has softened. The baby is in the right position, but his head is still a little high. I was hoping that the doc would tell us that we would be having this baby sometime before this weekend. But no such luck. Who knows, maybe things could change over night! I guess the baby will come out when he’s ready. Or if he waits too long, I will have to be induced on the 23rd.

Here are the most recent pics of the belly - 38 weeks. I still haven't gotten much bigger. Hopefully I won't!
