Long awaited update!

I have been meaning to update for a while. But never seem to get around to it. I'm going to try to become better and update a lot more.

Aaron is home!! Yay! He came back last week, early early in the morning! Jacob & I had to pick him up at 4am!! But we didn't mind the early wake up call! It was well worth it. As soon as Jacob saw Aaron he knew exactly who that was. I was holding him and put him on the ground and Jacob walked straight to Aaron with his arms open to give him a hug. It was soo cute! I'm very glad he wasn't shy or took a while to warm up. I think it helped that we spent alot of time on Skype and talking on the phone. So he knew who his daddy was.

We have spent the last week trying to get into a normal routine and of course Aaron doing little things around the house that I couldn't do while he was gone. Somehow while Aaron was gone, I managed to break the back axle of the lawn mower...opps!! I guess I shouldn't have been mowing the grass too fast! Thankfully it is still under warranty! We are now planning the small projects around the house that we want to do before Aaron's big 30th birthday party in July. So stay tuned for updates!!

I've come to realize that Jacob is growing up way too fast! He is becoming very independent, or at least trying to. He wants to do everything himself. I guess it's a good thing...but sometimes it takes forever to do something! But I let him try and try until he gets it. He is also a huge little helper. Whatever Aaron and I are doing, Jacob is there to help. From helping me pull laundry out of the dryer, to helping Aaron plant trees. He is an extremely active and physical little guy. He is still babbling, but doesn't use exact words yet. He understands exactly what we say and is very smart. I'm sure he will speak one day and then it will be hard to keep him quiet! But for now, we are enjoying every second of him!

P.S.

I got a new camera which I've been dying to have! So my hobby will hopefully become a side job one day! (fingers crossed) I've been practicing and having fun taking pictures of little man all the time. I'll post more later!

Summer is here!

Latley the weather in GA has been awesome! Sunny & Hot! I think it skipped spring all together. For Easter, my parents got Jacob some more toys of course! and a little swimming pool. I blew it up and we got in it yesterday. It took him a little while to feel comfortable in it. He was a little scared at first. But then he had a lot of fun splashing around.

Jacob is one little spoiled man! And I think he is starting to know it! All he has to do is give his Grandma a smile, and he can get what he wants! His new favorite word is "GaGa". Forget mama or dada. It's GaGa this, or GaGa that. He knows who his GaGa/Grandma is!!

He is starting to get a lot better with his words. Today we were at a store and he waved goodbye to the sales clerk and said byebye! I was so happy! He babbles all day, but it's hard to get him to say the correct word for things. But he is getting better. Maybe he is saving all his words for when Aaron comes home.

Other than that, life is good. We are just enjoying our time at my parents as much as we can. Soon enough Aaron will be back and we will be starting some new home projects!

13 months!

Today Jacob is 13 months! Oh my! Sorry I haven't updated in a while. Jacob keeps me EXTREMELY busy! Any free time I have goes to paying bills, cleaning house, taking care of the dogs, or any of the million things it seems like I have to do.

Jacob is doing good. We have been battling ear infections lately. He's had two in the last month. And to top that off, he's gotten all four of his back molars in. So he's been having a rough month. Hopefully things will turn around soon. He walks like a champ now, and is hard to keep still. He is on the go all the time! He's a typical little boy and wants to bang all his toys around and loves to climb on anything! He's learned how to climb on couches and chairs. I'm sure he will try to climb out of his crib next.

I am starting to tackle the hard battle of getting rid of the binki (paci). I would love to get rid of it before Aaron comes back. We went to Jacob's 1 yr check up last week and the doctor was a little worried because Jacob doesn't use many words. He will say mama or dada from time to time. But doesn't use it on a daily basis. From what I have read online and in magazines, the binki can hinder speach. He babbles all the time, but doesn't use many words. He is very good at understanding everything I say. So I am working very hard with him now to use words. I have seen a pretty good improvement in just the last week. So I know he is very capable of talking!
