Almost done with traveling

We are currently back in Atlanta for a few more hours. We arrived last night at 1:30am. We have been traveling non-stop since last Saturday. We are exhausted! Ohio was great, but went by way too quick! I'll post pics up as soon as we get a chance. We are pressed for time right now, but I just wanted to update everyone.

We signed for the house on Thursday. We are now officially home owners! And boy is it expensive! We seem to be shelling out money every where we turn, from appliances, riding lawn mower, fridge, new locks, and now a privacy fence. We are going to be so glad when we can take a rest.

We are heading back to Gulfport today at noon. We have to get back so we can pick up our new washer and dryer. Then Aaron has to put in our new mail box. You would have thought that our new home would have came with a mail box. So this will be our first official home owners project. I will post pics when we are done.

Sorry to cut this short, but we have to pack both of our cars up with all of our stuff that we have here at my mom and dads. We have so much that we won't even be able to fit everything. But thankfully mom and dad are bringing everything else next weekend.

We will post pics of all of the traveling next week once we get the internet set up in our house. Until then if you need to get in touch with us, give us a call. Ciao! :)

Growing little man

We had Jacob's 4 month check-up on Thursday. This was our first american doctor visit. Everything went okay. They didn't help much with his poop issue. Not to go into much detail, but he still isn't having a bowel movement unless we give him prune juice, and even then he poops extremely hard clay-like clumps. He seems to be in so much pain. The doctor told me to start putting karo syrup in some of his bottles. I was always told in Sicily not to do this by the doc b/c it is unpasteurized. I personally don't think it can be that good to give him all that sugar. I did put it in one of his bottles, and he of course drank the bottle like crazy. The karo syrup appeared to have worked the charm. But I think I will try apple or pear juice to see if that will work as well.

Jacob is growing like a weed! He is now 16 pounds and 26 inches tall. He finally rolled from back to front yesterday. I can't believe how quickly he is growing. I feel like the baby stage went by too quick. I have never been around babies before Jacob and I'm amazed at how quickly he is growing. I feel like he is going to be crawling and walking before I even know it. I'm enjoying him as much as I can right now. We got him a new toy this week that he can sit in and play. He LOVES it! I posted a video on YouTube with his first experience in it. ((www.youtube.com/user/hanlonamj)) I also posted 2 other videos. I've been slacking on pics and videos.

I also tried giving Jacob his first rice cereal yesterday. He didn't really seem to like it yet. He made this terrible face like it didn't taste that good. So I tried it myself, and it does take like carboard. But it's not as bad as the prunes. I tried again this morning with the cereal, and it was a better succcess. He actually opened his mouth and swallowed some of it. I guess it's going to take him a little bit to get used to it. Next week I'll try introducing him to a veggie. That should be interesting!

Today is the 4th of July and we are home alone. It's kind of sad, but Aaron will be home in 6 more days. I can't wait! Aaron comes in late Friday night, and then we hit the road Saturday morning heading to Ohio. We will be there for only 3 days since we have to sign for the house on the 16th. Hopefully the road trip will go good with Jacob. He did a pretty good job when we first got to America and had to drive from NC to GA. But that may have been due to the fact he was still stuck in Italian time and had his nights and days mixed up.

I'm excited to get to our new house. Finally a place we can paint and do things to! Living in military housing has been hard b/c we were so limited on what we can do. I'm already thinking about painting the built-in cabinets in the living room. I'm not sure if I should paint them black or white.

This is our cabinets...I plan to redo our mantel as well, but that will be done after Aaron gets back.

Here are the white cabinets. I like their mantel as well.

I like the black too. It would go with our black airmoire.

I've also got to decide on a new paint color. Right now the walls are like a cream color. Which is nice, I just would like to get a warmer color. Maybe a tan or golden yellow (I like the color in the picture above with the white built-ins). I am still looking online for some inspirational pictures...stay tuned! I'll keep everyone updated.

I hope everyone has a great 4th of July!
